Install Jentic One Beta
Jentic One is a self-hosted execution layer for AI agents. It lets your agent call the APITube News API, or any other public or private API you need. You set the rules, the agent never sees your credentials, and every call is logged.
Two steps, two machines. Install the instance in a safe environment, then register your agent from wherever it runs.
Step 1: Jentic One Host machine
# On the machine that will host your Jentic One instance:
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fapitube.io%2Fapitube" | shStep 2: Agent machine
# On the machine where your agent runs (keep this separate from the instance):
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fapitube.io%2Fapitube" | sh
jentic register # connects your agent to your Jentic One instanceJentic One is in public beta. The setup above keeps your agent separate from the instance, which is what you want before using real credentials: an agent running as the same OS user as Jentic One can read its stored keys directly. Just evaluating? A single local install is fine to start. See the secure deployment guide for the tiers.
What an agent can do with APITube News API.

Patterns agents use APITube News API for, with concrete tasks.
★ AI agent monitoring the news
A monitoring agent needs fresh coverage on a topic without a developer wiring up a news feed. Through Jentic the agent searches for searching recent news articles, loads the article search operation with the key already injected, and returns matching articles filtered by language and recency. The agent works against live coverage rather than a static archive.
Call GET /v1/news/everything with a topic query and return the most recent matching articles
Topic sentiment tracking
A brand or market agent tracks how coverage of a subject is trending and whether sentiment is positive or negative. The APITube News API filters article search by sentiment and recognized entities and surfaces trending topics and entities, so the agent can summarize both volume and tone. This supports media monitoring without running its own NLP pipeline.
Call GET /v1/news/everything filtered to negative sentiment for a brand name, then GET /v1/news/trends for related topics
Headline briefing
A briefing agent assembles a short digest of what is making headlines right now. The APITube News API returns current top headlines that the agent can group and summarize into a daily brief. Entity autocomplete helps the agent resolve a vague subject into a precise query before pulling articles.
Call GET /v1/news/top-headlines and summarize the leading stories into a short brief
5 endpoints — the apitube news api searches real-time news articles drawn from a large pool of verified sources across many languages, with full-text queries and filtering by sentiment and recognized entities.

What agents get from Jentic-routed access to this vendor.
Setup
Wiring the APITube News API by hand means obtaining a key, passing it as the X-API-Key header or the api_key query parameter, and building full-text, sentiment, and entity filters on the search endpoint yourself. Through Jentic you install once, import APITube from the API Directory, store the key once, and your agent calls it.
Permission scoping
The APITube News API is read-only: article search, top headlines, trends, entity autocomplete, and a balance check. You choose the operations your agent may call, so you can allow article search and headlines and leave the entity-suggest and balance endpoints out unless you add them.
Credential isolation
Your APITube key is stored once, encrypted, by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time. It never enters the agent's prompt, logs, or context.
Intent-based discovery
Agents search Jentic by intent such as 'search recent news' or 'get trending topics', and Jentic returns the matching APITube operation with its input schema so the agent calls the right endpoint without reading the reference docs.

What authentication does the APITube News API use?
The APITube News API accepts an API key either in the X-API-Key request header or as the api_key query parameter, per its OpenAPI spec. Both forms authorize the same operations. Through Jentic the key is stored once and injected at call time, so the agent never handles it directly.
Can I search news articles by topic?
Yes. Call GET /v1/news/everything with a full-text query to retrieve matching articles, and narrow the results by sentiment, language, or recognized entities. For a snapshot of what is prominent now, GET /v1/news/top-headlines returns current leading stories.
What are the rate limits for the APITube News API?
The OpenAPI spec does not state numeric rate limits. Usage is metered against your plan's allowance, which you can read with GET /v1/balance. Check the APITube documentation for the quota on your key before running broad historical searches.
Is there an APITube News API MCP server?
You don't need an MCP server to give your agent the APITube News API. Jentic connects it directly from the API Directory: import the API, store your key once, and your agent calls operations such as GET /v1/news/everything on demand without loading another server's tool definitions into its context.
Can I limit what my agent is allowed to do with the APITube News API?
Yes. Write a rule that allows only the article search and top-headlines reads, so the agent can gather coverage but cannot call the entity-suggest or balance endpoints, and every call it makes is logged. The API is read-only, so you are choosing which reads are in scope rather than guarding writes.
How do I search the news through Jentic?
Search Jentic for 'search recent news articles', load the GET /v1/news/everything operation, and run it after your key is stored. To run it on your own infrastructure, install Jentic One from its GitHub repo.
For Agents
Search real-time news articles with full-text queries, filter by sentiment and entities, and pull top headlines and trending topics.
Use for: Search news articles about a topic, Get today's top headlines, Find trending topics and entities, Autocomplete an entity name
Not supported: Does not publish articles, host content, or return social media posts. Use for searching and analyzing third-party news articles only.
The APITube News API searches real-time news articles drawn from a large pool of verified sources across many languages, with full-text queries and filtering by sentiment and recognized entities. It also returns current top headlines, trending topics and entities, and an entity autocomplete endpoint for building precise queries. A balance endpoint reports the account's remaining quota.
