Install Jentic One Beta
Jentic One is a self-hosted execution layer for AI agents. It lets your agent call the BestAppify API, or any other public or private API you need. You set the rules, the agent never sees your credentials, and every call is logged.
Two steps, two machines. Install the instance in a safe environment, then register your agent from wherever it runs.
Step 1: Jentic One Host machine
# On the machine that will host your Jentic One instance:
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fbestappify.app%2Fbestappify" | shStep 2: Agent machine
# On the machine where your agent runs (keep this separate from the instance):
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fbestappify.app%2Fbestappify" | sh
jentic register # connects your agent to your Jentic One instanceJentic One is in public beta. The setup above keeps your agent separate from the instance, which is what you want before using real credentials: an agent running as the same OS user as Jentic One can read its stored keys directly. Just evaluating? A single local install is fine to start. See the secure deployment guide for the tiers.

Patterns agents use BestAppify API for, with concrete tasks.
★ Agent-Driven App Store Rank Monitoring
An AI agent connected to the BestAppify API can watch a Shopify app's keyword positions and alert its owner when rankings move. The agent reads daily positions and week-over-week change from the keyword-rankings endpoint, pulls the competitor overlap matrix, and flags terms where a rival just overtook the app, turning a manual daily check into an automated watch loop.
Fetch keyword rankings for app handle fast-bundle, identify every keyword whose position dropped week-over-week, and summarize the three largest drops
Keyword Opportunity Discovery
Growth teams want keywords their competitors rank for but their own listing does not. The BestAppify API returns those gaps directly from the opportunities endpoint, each with the competitor's current position, so a team can prioritize which terms to work into the title, tagline, and description. It reads from the weekly catalog crawl, so it covers competitors without needing their analytics.
Call the opportunities endpoint for app handle fast-bundle and return the top ten keywords a tracked competitor ranks for that this app does not
Pre-Publish Listing Review
Before changing a listing's title or description, a merchant can submit the draft to the BestAppify API's listing-review endpoint and get a senior review plus a rank-driver read on what similar edits did historically. This lets a team test a change against evidence from past rank movement instead of guessing, and compare it to what rewrote the leaders' screenshot headlines.
Submit a revised app tagline for app handle fast-bundle to the listing-review endpoint and return the review verdict with the rank-driver evidence
Competitor and Review Intelligence
The BestAppify API profiles any app in the catalog by handle, returning its rank trajectory, category position, nearest competitors, and an AI theme analysis of its reviews covering what merchants love, complain about, and request. A product team can use this to scope a new feature or position against an incumbent, with review themes compared across the tracked competitor set.
Pull the review intelligence for app handle fast-bundle and list the top three complaint themes alongside the competitor comparison
35 endpoints — the bestappify api tracks shopify app store keyword rankings, competitor overlap, and review sentiment for your own apps and for the wider market.

What agents get from Jentic-routed access to this vendor.
Setup
Wiring the BestAppify API by hand means managing its bearer token, staying within its request rate limits, and paging the market endpoints yourself. Through Jentic you install once, import BestAppify from the API Directory, store the token once, and your agent calls it.
Permission scoping
BestAppify puts the app handle in the URL path (/api/v1/apps/{app}/...), so a rule can pin your agent to one app: it can read that app's rankings, competitors, and reviews and nothing else. You choose the operations it may call, so the listing-rewrite operations like the listing proposal endpoint are not included unless you add them.
Credential isolation
Your BestAppify token is stored once, encrypted, by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time. It never enters the agent's prompt, logs, or context.
Intent-based discovery
Agents search Jentic by intent such as 'track app store keyword rankings' or 'find competitor keywords', and Jentic returns the matching BestAppify operation with its input schema so the agent calls the right endpoint without browsing the reference docs.

Specific to using BestAppify API through Jentic.
What authentication does the BestAppify API use?
The BestAppify API authenticates with a bearer token per its OpenAPI spec: you create an API key in the BestAppify dashboard and send it as an Authorization: Bearer header on every request. Through Jentic the token is stored once by your own self-hosted instance and injected at call time, so it never sits in your agent's prompt or logs.
Is there a BestAppify MCP server?
You do not need an MCP server to give your agent the BestAppify API. Jentic connects it directly from the API Directory: import it, store your API key once, and your agent calls the keyword, competitor, and review endpoints on demand. Operations are discovered when needed, so no extra server's tool definitions are loaded into the agent's context.
Can I limit what my agent is allowed to do with the BestAppify API?
Yes. Write a rule that allows only the keyword, competitor, and review read operations under one app handle, so the agent can pull that app's rankings and reviews but cannot run the listing-rewrite endpoints or read another app. Every call it makes is logged, so you can audit exactly what the agent touched.
Can I track competitor keyword rankings with the BestAppify API?
Yes. The competitors endpoint at /api/v1/apps/{app}/competitors returns your tracked competitor set with current rank, rank change, and a keyword overlap matrix, and the opportunities endpoint returns keywords a competitor ranks for that your app does not. Market endpoints also let you search the catalog by name to find a competitor's handle before you track it.
What are the rate limits for the BestAppify API?
The OpenAPI spec states a limit of 120 requests per minute, with a daily allowance that varies by plan (100 on Free, 1,000 on Growth, 10,000 on Pro), counted per account across all keys. A 429 response carries either rate_limited or daily_limit_reached so your agent can tell which ceiling it hit and back off accordingly.
How do I track my app's keyword rankings with the BestAppify API through Jentic?
Search Jentic for 'track app store keyword rankings' and it returns the GET /api/v1/apps/{app}/keywords operation with its input schema. Pass your app handle and the agent gets today's position, week-over-week change, and the difficulty and demand indices for every tracked keyword. To run it on your own infrastructure, install Jentic One from its GitHub repo.
For Agents
Track Shopify App Store keyword rankings, compare competitor overlap, surface keyword opportunities, and read app review themes, installs, and revenue. Covers both your own apps and the wider App Store catalog.
Use for: Track how my Shopify app ranks for its target keywords, Find keywords my competitors rank for that my app is missing, Compare my app against its tracked competitors by rank and keyword overlap, Check whether a planned listing edit will help or hurt my rank
Not supported: Does not handle app publishing, in-app billing, or merchant storefront data. Use for Shopify App Store keyword, competitor, and review intelligence only.
The BestAppify API tracks Shopify App Store keyword rankings, competitor overlap, and review sentiment for your own apps and for the wider market. It surfaces keyword opportunities rivals rank for that you miss, reviews a planned listing edit against historical rank movement before you publish, and reports installs, revenue, and churn drawn from linked Google Analytics and Shopify Partner data. Market endpoints search the full App Store catalog, so you can profile a competitor by handle before you start tracking it.
