For Agents
Create, edit, tag, and export notes, set reminders, and attach files in a Caliu account. Authenticates with a bearer API key in the Authorization header.
Use for: Create a note with a title and body, Add a reminder to a note, Tag a note so I can find it later, Attach a file to a note
Not supported: Does not handle real-time collaboration, team workspaces, or document publishing. Use for reading and writing notes, tags, reminders, and attachments only.
The Caliu API gives programmatic access to an API-first notes app, so a caller can read and write notes and everything attached to them. You create, edit, import, trash, and restore notes, organize them with tags, set reminders, and add file attachments. Notes can be exported singly or in bulk, and an agent can manage its own API keys, devices, and subscription from the same surface.
Install Jentic One Beta
Jentic One is a self-hosted execution layer for AI agents. It lets your agent call the Caliu API, or any other public or private API you need. You set the rules, the agent never sees your credentials, and every call is logged.
Two steps, two machines. Install the instance in a safe environment, then register your agent from wherever it runs.
Step 1: Jentic One Host machine
# On the machine that will host your Jentic One instance:
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fcaliuapp.com%2Fcaliu" | shStep 2: Agent machine
# On the machine where your agent runs (keep this separate from the instance):
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fcaliuapp.com%2Fcaliu" | sh
jentic register # connects your agent to your Jentic One instanceJentic One is in public beta. The setup above keeps your agent separate from the instance, which is what you want before using real credentials: an agent running as the same OS user as Jentic One can read its stored keys directly. Just evaluating? A single local install is fine to start. See the secure deployment guide for the tiers.
What an agent can do with Caliu API.
Create, edit, and import notes, and restore them from trash
Organize notes with tags
Set reminders on a note
Attach files to a note and download them
Export a single note or all notes
Manage API keys and connected devices
Patterns agents use Caliu API for, with concrete tasks.
★ Agent Note Capture
An AI agent connected through Jentic writes notes into a Caliu account, tags them, and sets reminders, so captured information lands in the user's own notes app without manual entry. Because notes, tags, and reminders are separate resources, the agent can file a note and schedule a nudge in the same flow.
Create a note titled 'Standup actions' with today's items, tag it 'work', and set a reminder for tomorrow morning
Reminders on Notes
An assistant sets reminders on specific notes so follow-ups surface at the right time, reading them back per note or across the account. The reminder operations tie a scheduled nudge to the note it belongs to rather than a separate task list.
Add a reminder to the note about the contract review for Friday at 9am
Bulk Note Export
A backup or migration flow exports all notes in one call, or a single note on demand, so content can be moved or archived outside the app. The export operations return the notes in a portable form an agent can hand to another system.
Export all notes and save the result so the account can be backed up
41 endpoints — the caliu api gives programmatic access to an api-first notes app, so a caller can read and write notes and everything attached to them.

This API is usable in Jentic One now. Its AI-readiness score against Jentic's framework shows where it stands today and where improvements would make it even easier for agents to use.
Base layer of spec validity and structural soundness.
Aggregated quality score from linter diagnostics, weighted by severity.
Percentage of `$ref` references that resolve successfully.
Checks whether the API description parses successfully and conforms to its declared specification (e.g., OpenAPI).
Structural correctness score based on schema issues using logarithmic dampening.
Clarity, completeness, and ingestion readiness for developers and tooling.
How richly the API is illustrated with examples.
Percentage of examples that conform to their schemas.
Percentage of operations with complete response definitions (success, client error, server error).
Health of API ingestion, bundling, and resolution within Jentic pipelines.
Semantic breadth, depth, and agent comprehension for AI systems.
Coverage of descriptions across API elements.
Coverage of RFC 9457 Problem Details for error responses.
Coverage, uniqueness, and casing consistency of operationIds for AI inference.
Coverage of summaries across operations/tags/info.
Functional utility, complexity comfort, and AI orchestration readiness.
Agent comfort level based on API operational and structural complexity.
Trust, risk posture, and security compliance.
Average quality of security schemes based on authentication method strength (weakest link for OAuth2).
Findability, semantic richness, and reasoning readiness.
Clarity and depth of descriptions across API elements.

Setup
Wiring the Caliu API by hand means creating an API key in the app, sending it as a bearer token, and coordinating notes, tags, reminders, and attachments across separate operations. Through Jentic you install once, import Caliu from the API Directory, store the key once, and your agent calls it.
Permission scoping
You choose which operations your agent may call, so you can allow creating and reading notes while leaving note deletion and API key management out. Note content and tags travel in the request body, so rules bound which operations run rather than which note is edited.
Credential isolation
Your Caliu API key is stored once, encrypted, by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time. It never enters the agent's prompt, logs, or context.
Intent-based discovery
Agents search Jentic by intent such as 'create a note' or 'set a reminder on a note', and Jentic returns the matching Caliu operation with its input schema so the agent calls the right endpoint without reading the reference docs.

Specific to using Caliu API through Jentic.
Is there a Caliu MCP server?
You don't need an MCP server to give your agent the Caliu API. Jentic connects it directly from the API Directory: import it, store your API key once, and your agent can create and read notes straight away, with no extra server to run and no tool definitions loaded into the agent's context.
Can I limit what my agent is allowed to do with the Caliu API?
Yes. You choose which operations your agent may call, so you can allow creating and reading notes while leaving note deletion and API key management out, and every call it makes is logged. That keeps a note-capture agent from emptying the trash or rotating your keys.
What authentication does the Caliu API use?
The Caliu API authenticates with a bearer API key passed in the Authorization header per its OpenAPI spec, which you create in the app settings; a session cookie covers the app itself. Through Jentic the key is stored encrypted by your own instance and added to each request at call time.
Can I attach files to a note with the Caliu API?
Yes. The attachments operations let an agent add a file to a note and download it later, so a note can carry supporting documents alongside its text, tags, and reminders.
What are the rate limits for the Caliu API?
The OpenAPI spec does not specify rate limits for the Caliu API. For current limits, see the Caliu documentation at https://api.caliuapp.com.
How do I create a note with the Caliu API through Jentic?
Import the Caliu API from the Jentic API Directory, then have your agent issue a request such as 'create a note with these items'. Jentic matches the intent to the create-note operation and returns its input schema so the agent builds a valid request, with your stored API key injected at call time. To run it on your own infrastructure, install Jentic One from its GitHub repo.
