For Agents
Create AI or static form drafts, update their questions, and publish them live through Deformity. List forms and workspaces, and soft-delete forms within an organization.
Use for: Create an AI form from a prompt, Spin up a classic form from a list of questions, Get a form draft and its questions, Update the questions on a form draft
Not supported: Does not handle response storage, payment collection, or email delivery. Use for building and publishing forms only.
The Deformity API creates and publishes AI-generated and static forms within an organization's workspaces. Agents draft a form from a prompt or a list of questions, revise its questions, and publish it live, with a quickstart operation for classic forms built from plain question strings. A form can be soft-deleted, which also removes any custom domain mapping attached to it.
Install Jentic One Beta
Jentic One is a self-hosted execution layer for AI agents. It lets your agent call the Deformity External API, or any other public or private API you need. You set the rules, the agent never sees your credentials, and every call is logged.
Two steps, two machines. Install the instance in a safe environment, then register your agent from wherever it runs.
Step 1: Jentic One Host machine
# On the machine that will host your Jentic One instance:
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fdeformity.ai%2Fdeformity" | shStep 2: Agent machine
# On the machine where your agent runs (keep this separate from the instance):
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fdeformity.ai%2Fdeformity" | sh
jentic register # connects your agent to your Jentic One instanceJentic One is in public beta. The setup above keeps your agent separate from the instance, which is what you want before using real credentials: an agent running as the same OS user as Jentic One can read its stored keys directly. Just evaluating? A single local install is fine to start. See the secure deployment guide for the tiers.
What an agent can do with Deformity External API.
Create an AI or static form draft from a prompt or a question list
Spin up a classic form from a name and question strings via quickstart
Update a form draft's questions before publishing
Publish a form draft to make it live
List active forms and the organization's workspaces
Soft-delete a form and remove its custom domain mapping
Patterns agents use Deformity External API for, with concrete tasks.
★ Agent-Built Forms
An AI agent turns a plain-language request into a live form: it creates an AI form draft from the prompt, reviews the generated questions, and publishes it. The agent discovers the create and publish operations through Jentic by intent, so it builds and ships the form without hardcoding endpoint paths.
Create an AI form draft from a prompt, review its questions, then publish the form and return its live link
Publish a Survey Fast
A team needs a quick survey without opening a builder UI. The agent calls the quickstart operation with a form name and a list of question strings, then publishes the resulting draft. Deformity generates the classic form structure from the strings, so the agent only supplies the questions.

Form Lifecycle Management
An operations agent keeps an organization's forms tidy. It lists the active forms across workspaces, updates the questions on a draft that needs changes, and soft-deletes forms that are no longer used. Because delete is a soft-delete that also unmaps the custom domain, the agent can retire a form cleanly.

This API is usable in Jentic One now. Its AI-readiness score against Jentic's framework shows where it stands today and where improvements would make it even easier for agents to use.
Base layer of spec validity and structural soundness.
Aggregated quality score from linter diagnostics, weighted by severity.
Percentage of `$ref` references that resolve successfully.
Checks whether the API description parses successfully and conforms to its declared specification (e.g., OpenAPI).
Structural correctness score based on schema issues using logarithmic dampening.
Clarity, completeness, and ingestion readiness for developers and tooling.
How richly the API is illustrated with examples.
Percentage of examples that conform to their schemas.
Percentage of operations with complete response definitions (success, client error, server error).
Health of API ingestion, bundling, and resolution within Jentic pipelines.
Semantic breadth, depth, and agent comprehension for AI systems.
Coverage of descriptions across API elements.
Coverage of RFC 9457 Problem Details for error responses.
Coverage, uniqueness, and casing consistency of operationIds for AI inference.
Coverage of summaries across operations/tags/info.
Functional utility, complexity comfort, and AI orchestration readiness.
Agent comfort level based on API operational and structural complexity.

Setup
Wiring Deformity by hand means creating an organization-scoped API key and sending it as a bearer token on every form call. Through Jentic you install once, import Deformity from the API Directory, store the key once, and your agent calls it.
Permission scoping
You choose which Deformity operations your agent may call, so you can allow form creation and updates while leaving publish and soft-delete out unless you add them. Deformity carries the form id in the URL path, so rules bound which operations run.
Credential isolation
Your Deformity key is stored once, encrypted, by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time. It never enters the agent's prompt, logs, or context.
Intent-based discovery
Agents search Jentic by intent such as create an AI form or publish a form, and Jentic returns the matching Deformity operation with its input schema so the agent calls the right endpoint without reading the reference docs.

What authentication does the Deformity API use?
The Deformity API authenticates with an organization-scoped API key sent as a bearer token in the Authorization header, per its OpenAPI spec. Through Jentic the key is stored encrypted by your own Jentic One instance and injected at call time, so it never lands in the agent's prompt or logs.
Can I build AI forms with the Deformity API?
Yes. The create-form operation drafts an AI or static form from your input, and the quickstart operation builds a classic form from a name and question strings. Publish the draft when you are ready to make it live.
What are the rate limits for the Deformity API?
The OpenAPI spec does not publish rate limits for the Deformity API. Check Deformity's own API documentation, linked from its external docs, for the current limits on your organization's key.
Can I limit what my agent is allowed to do with the Deformity API?
Yes. Write a rule that allows only form creation and updates, so the agent can draft and revise forms while publish and soft-delete stay out unless you add them. Every call the agent makes is logged.
How do I publish a form with the Deformity API through Jentic?
Search Jentic for an intent like create and publish a form, store your organization key once, and your agent calls the create operation and then the publish operation for the returned form. To run it on your own infrastructure, install Jentic One from its GitHub repo.
Is there a Deformity MCP server?
You don't need an MCP server to give your agent the Deformity API. Jentic connects it directly from the API Directory: import it, store your key once, and your agent calls the operations it needs on demand.
