Install Jentic One Beta
Jentic One is a self-hosted execution layer for AI agents. It lets your agent call the Foreca Weather API, or any other public or private API you need. You set the rules, the agent never sees your credentials, and every call is logged.
Two steps, two machines. Install the instance in a safe environment, then register your agent from wherever it runs.
Step 1: Jentic One Host machine
# On the machine that will host your Jentic One instance:
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fforeca.com%2Fforeca" | shStep 2: Agent machine
# On the machine where your agent runs (keep this separate from the instance):
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fforeca.com%2Fforeca" | sh
jentic register # connects your agent to your Jentic One instanceJentic One is in public beta. The setup above keeps your agent separate from the instance, which is what you want before using real credentials: an agent running as the same OS user as Jentic One can read its stored keys directly. Just evaluating? A single local install is fine to start. See the secure deployment guide for the tiers.
What an agent can do with Foreca Weather API.
Retrieve current conditions and hourly, three-hourly, and daily point forecasts for any location
Search locations and resolve coordinates for forecast lookups
Get air quality index and pollen forecasts by location
Fetch weather map tiles, symbols, and legends for radar and precipitation layers
Pull marine, agriculture, energy, and ski-resort forecast parameters
GET STARTED
Read severe weather warnings and nearby lightning flashes
Access long-term climate normals and historical observations
Patterns agents use Foreca Weather API for, with concrete tasks.
★ AI Agent Weather Lookups
An AI agent connected through Jentic can resolve a place name to a location and fetch its forecast on demand to answer weather questions or drive decisions. The agent searches for the operation it needs, Foreca returns the matching endpoint and input schema, and the agent calls it with a stored key. This lets a planning assistant pull live forecasts without a human visiting a weather site.
Search for a location by name, then fetch its hourly forecast
Air Quality and Pollen Monitoring
Retrieve hourly and daily air quality index forecasts and pollen forecasts for a location to drive health and outdoor-planning features. Foreca returns these alongside the standard temperature, wind, and precipitation parameters so one lookup covers conditions and air quality together.
Retrieve the daily air quality and pollen forecast for a location
Weather Map Layers
Render radar, precipitation, and cloudiness as map tiles with matching symbols and legends. An application can overlay Foreca weather layers on an existing map by requesting tiles at a given zoom, coordinate, and time.
Fetch a precipitation map tile and its legend for a region
Severe Weather and Marine Forecasts
Read governmental severe weather warnings and marine forecasts of waves and sea temperatures for a location, plus nearby lightning flashes. This supports safety and operations features for coastal, aviation, and field work.
Check severe weather warnings and the hourly marine forecast for a coastal location
37 endpoints — the foreca weather api delivers global weather data as one rest interface.

What agents get from Jentic-routed access to this vendor.
Setup
Wiring the Foreca Weather API by hand means obtaining a JWT Bearer key, passing it in the Authorization header or as a token query parameter, and mapping each weather product to its endpoint. Through Jentic you install once, import Foreca from the API Directory, store the key once, and your agent calls it.
Permission scoping
Foreca is almost entirely read-only weather data; the only write operations manage your own API keys. A rule can hold your agent to the forecast and map reads it needs, so key creation and deletion are not included unless you add them.
Credential isolation
Your Foreca JWT key is stored once, encrypted, by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time. It never enters the agent's prompt, logs, or context.
Intent-based discovery
Agents search Jentic by intent such as 'get the hourly forecast for a city' or 'find the air quality for a location', and Jentic returns the matching Foreca operation with its input schema so the agent calls the right endpoint without reading the docs.

Specific to using Foreca Weather API through Jentic.
What authentication does the Foreca Weather API use?
The Foreca Weather API authenticates with a JWT Bearer token per its OpenAPI spec: pass it in the Authorization header, or as a token query parameter. Keys are created in your Foreca account. Through Jentic the key is stored encrypted by your own Jentic One instance and injected at call time, so it never reaches the agent's prompt or logs.
Can I get air quality and pollen forecasts with the Foreca Weather API?
Yes. Foreca returns hourly and daily air quality index forecasts and hourly and daily pollen forecasts, each keyed by location, alongside its temperature, wind, and precipitation point forecasts.
Is there a Foreca MCP server?
You don't need an MCP server to give your agent the Foreca Weather API. Jentic connects it directly from the API Directory: import the API, store your key once, and your agent calls the forecast and map endpoints it needs.
Can I limit what my agent is allowed to do with the Foreca Weather API?
Yes. Write a rule that allows only the forecast, air quality, and map-layer read operations, so a weather agent can fetch data while the API-key management operations stay out of reach, and every call it makes is logged.
What are the rate limits for the Foreca Weather API?
The OpenAPI spec does not publish specific rate limits; they depend on your Foreca plan. Foreca exposes daily and monthly usage endpoints you can poll to track consumption, and documents plan limits at business.foreca.com.
How do I get a weather forecast with the Foreca Weather API through Jentic?
Search Jentic for an intent like 'get the hourly forecast for a city', and it returns the Foreca forecast operation with its input schema so your agent calls it with a resolved location. Your stored key is injected at call time. To run it on your own infrastructure, install Jentic One from its GitHub repo.
For Agents
Fetch global weather data by location: current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts, air quality, pollen, marine and severe-weather data, plus weather map tiles and location search.
Use for: Get the hourly weather forecast for a city, Search for a location by name, Retrieve the air quality forecast for a location, Fetch a precipitation map tile for a region
Not supported: Does not provide turn-by-turn navigation, place or business search, or geofencing. Use for location-based weather forecasts and map layers only.
The Foreca Weather API delivers global weather data as one REST interface. It serves current conditions and minutely, hourly, three-hourly, and daily point forecasts keyed by location, plus air quality, pollen, marine, agriculture, energy, and ski-resort products. It renders weather map layers as tiles, symbols, and legends for radar, precipitation, and cloudiness, and provides location search, severe weather warnings, nearby lightning flashes, climate normals, and historical observations. Access is tiered by plan.
