Install Jentic One Beta
Jentic One is a self-hosted execution layer for AI agents. It lets your agent call the KonbiniAPI, or any other public or private API you need. You set the rules, the agent never sees your credentials, and every call is logged.
Two steps, two machines. Install the instance in a safe environment, then register your agent from wherever it runs.
Step 1: Jentic One Host machine
# On the machine that will host your Jentic One instance:
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fkonbiniapi.com%2Fkonbiniapi" | shStep 2: Agent machine
# On the machine where your agent runs (keep this separate from the instance):
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fkonbiniapi.com%2Fkonbiniapi" | sh
jentic register # connects your agent to your Jentic One instanceJentic One is in public beta. The setup above keeps your agent separate from the instance, which is what you want before using real credentials: an agent running as the same OS user as Jentic One can read its stored keys directly. Just evaluating? A single local install is fine to start. See the secure deployment guide for the tiers.
What an agent can do with KonbiniAPI API.
Read a user's profile and posts on Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, or LinkedIn by username
Search TikTok, Instagram, and Reddit content and users by query, with order and published filters on TikTok
Pull comments and comment replies on TikTok videos, Instagram posts, and Reddit posts
Get the transcript of a TikTok video in a chosen language or of a LinkedIn post video
GET STARTED
List trending TikTok videos by region and trending Instagram reels
Read subreddit posts, comments, rules, and sticky posts, and fetch Reddit posts, comments, or subreddits in batch by entityIds
Read LinkedIn company pages and their posts, and X communities with their posts and media
Patterns agents use KonbiniAPI API for, with concrete tasks.
★ AI agent social listening through Jentic
A brand-monitoring agent searches Jentic for 'search Reddit posts', loads the KonbiniAPI Reddit search operation with its input schema, and queries for the brand name over a chosen time window. Because every network returns the same ActivityStreams 2.0 shape, the agent can run the same query on TikTok and Instagram and merge the results. Your own Jentic One instance injects the API key at call time.
Call GET /v1/reddit/search/posts with q 'acme widgets' and time 'week', then GET /v1/tiktok/search/videos with query 'acme widgets', and summarise the top results
Creator research across platforms
A marketing team vetting creators reads each candidate's profile and recent posts on TikTok and Instagram, checks follower lists, and reads comments to gauge audience reaction, with all results normalised so they can be compared side by side.
Call GET /v1/tiktok/users/{username} and GET /v1/tiktok/users/{username}/videos with count 20, then GET /v1/instagram/users/{username}/posts for the same creator
Video transcripts for content analysis
A research workflow pulls the spoken content from short videos. KonbiniAPI returns the transcript of a TikTok video for a given language and the transcript of a LinkedIn post video, so an agent can summarise or classify videos without downloading and transcribing them itself.
Call GET /v1/tiktok/videos/{videoId}/transcripts/{language} with language 'en-US' and summarise the transcript
Community and subreddit tracking
A community manager tracks discussion in a set of subreddits: subreddit posts and comments over a time window, sticky posts and rules, and batch lookups of known posts or comments by their entityIds.
Call GET /v1/reddit/subreddits/{subreddit}/posts with order 'top' and time 'day', then POST /v1/reddit/posts/batch with the entityIds of posts to refresh
71 endpoints — the konbiniapi reads public social media data from instagram, tiktok, x, reddit, and linkedin and returns it in one consistent activitystreams 2.

What agents get from Jentic-routed access to this vendor.
Setup
Wiring KonbiniAPI by hand means sending the bearer key, following cursor pagination on each network, and watching the X-Credits-Remaining header as you go. Through Jentic you install once, import KonbiniAPI from the API Directory, store the key once, and your agent calls it.
Permission scoping
KonbiniAPI puts the network and the target in the URL path (/v1/reddit/subreddits/{subreddit}, /v1/tiktok/users/{username}), so a rule can pin your agent to one subreddit or one creator and the operations you pick. You choose the operations it may call, so networks and searches you have not picked are not included unless you add them.
Credential isolation
Your KonbiniAPI key is stored once, encrypted, by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time. It never enters the agent's prompt, logs, or context.
Intent-based discovery
Agents search Jentic by intent such as 'get a TikTok creator's videos' or 'search Reddit posts', and Jentic returns the matching KonbiniAPI operation with its input schema so the agent calls the right endpoint without browsing the reference docs.

Specific to using KonbiniAPI API through Jentic.
What authentication does the KonbiniAPI use?
The KonbiniAPI authenticates with a bearer token per its OpenAPI spec: send your API key in the Authorization header as Bearer <your-api-key>. Through Jentic the key is stored encrypted by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time.
How does KonbiniAPI billing work?
Each successful request costs one credit, and every authenticated response carries X-Credits-Remaining and X-Credits-Used headers. Requests that fail with a bad request, a server error, or an upstream error are refunded and report X-Credits-Used as 0.
What are the rate limits for the KonbiniAPI?
The OpenAPI spec does not specify rate limits; usage is metered in credits instead. Check the KonbiniAPI documentation at https://docs.konbiniapi.com for current limits.
Is there a KonbiniAPI MCP server?
You don't need an MCP server to give your agent the KonbiniAPI. Jentic connects it directly from the API Directory: import it, store your credential once, and your agent calls the TikTok, Instagram, X, Reddit, and LinkedIn operations on demand without loading another server's tool definitions into its context.
Can I limit what my agent is allowed to do with the KonbiniAPI?
Yes. For example, write a rule that allows only the Reddit operations under /v1/reddit/subreddits/{subreddit} for r/yourproduct, so the agent can read that community and nothing else, which also caps the credits it can spend. Every call it makes through your instance is logged.
How do I get a TikTok video transcript through Jentic?
Search Jentic for 'get a TikTok transcript', load the KonbiniAPI transcript operation, and call GET /v1/tiktok/videos/{videoId}/transcripts/{language} with the video id and a language. To run it on your own infrastructure, install Jentic One from its GitHub repo.
Can the KonbiniAPI post or reply on social networks?
No. Every operation reads public data; the only POST operations are Reddit batch lookups of subreddits, posts, and comments by entityIds.
For Agents
Read public profiles, posts, comments, and trends from Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, and LinkedIn in one ActivityStreams 2.0 format, and search content and users on each network.
Use for: Get the latest posts from a TikTok creator, Search Reddit for posts mentioning our product, Pull the comments on an Instagram post, Get the transcript of a TikTok video in US English
Not supported: Does not publish posts, send messages, or manage social accounts. Use for reading public Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, and LinkedIn data only.
The KonbiniAPI reads public social media data from Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, and LinkedIn and returns it in one consistent ActivityStreams 2.0 format. It fetches user profiles, posts, reels, videos, comments and replies, followers, communities, subreddits, and company pages, searches content and users on each network, and lists trending TikTok videos and Instagram reels. It also returns TikTok and LinkedIn video transcripts and TikTok download URLs, and every successful request costs one credit, reported in the X-Credits-Remaining and X-Credits-Used headers.
