Youneedabudget YNAB API Endpoints

Setup

Wiring the YNAB API by hand means sending your token in the Authorization header on api.youneedabudget.com, matching its budget and account structure, and handling retries yourself. Through Jentic you install once, import the YNAB API from the API Directory, store the token once, and your agent calls it.

Permission scoping

The YNAB API puts the budget id in the URL path (/budgets/{budget_id}/...), so a rule can pin your agent to one budget: it reads that budget's accounts, categories, and transactions and nothing else. You choose the operations it may call, so writes like creating an account are not included unless you add them.

Credential isolation

Your YNAB token is stored once, encrypted, by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time. It never enters the agent's prompt, logs, or context.

Intent-based discovery

Agents search Jentic by intent such as 'list budgets' or 'read account transactions', and Jentic returns the matching YNAB operation with its input schema so the agent calls the right endpoint without browsing the reference docs.
