Install Jentic One Beta
Jentic One is a self-hosted execution layer for AI agents. It lets your agent call the HonestHook API, or any other public or private API you need. You set the rules, the agent never sees your credentials, and every call is logged.
Two steps, two machines. Install the instance in a safe environment, then register your agent from wherever it runs.
Step 1: Jentic One Host machine
# On the machine that will host your Jentic One instance:
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fhonesthook.com%2Fhonesthook" | shStep 2: Agent machine
# On the machine where your agent runs (keep this separate from the instance):
curl -fsSL "https://jentic.com/install.sh?src=apis&api=%2Fapis%2Fhonesthook.com%2Fhonesthook" | sh
jentic register # connects your agent to your Jentic One instanceJentic One is in public beta. The setup above keeps your agent separate from the instance, which is what you want before using real credentials: an agent running as the same OS user as Jentic One can read its stored keys directly. Just evaluating? A single local install is fine to start. See the secure deployment guide for the tiers.

Read GitHub repositories, issues, and releases for an account
Patterns agents use HonestHook API for, with concrete tasks.
★ Cross-Network Profile Monitoring
Track public profile metrics across several networks from one API instead of integrating each platform separately. The API returns a profile with its exact follower or subscriber count per network and returns null for fields a platform does not publish. Growth and analytics teams use this to record follower trajectories without per-platform scrapers.
Call GET /api/v1/instagram/profile and GET /api/v1/youtube/channel for a handle and record the follower and subscriber counts.
Content Retrieval for Analysis
Pull a specific post or video and its text so downstream analysis works from the real content rather than a link. The API returns a single TikTok video by URL and can return that video's spoken transcript as a separate call. Research teams use this to feed social content into classification or summarization.
GET /api/v1/tiktok/post with a video URL, then GET /api/v1/tiktok/post/transcript to retrieve its spoken transcript.
Trend and Mover Tracking
Read a historical trend archive that cannot be reconstructed after the fact, grouped by item within a niche. The API lists the available niches and returns the historical series for a chosen niche, plus what gained traction recently. Market researchers use this to study what was trending over time rather than only the current snapshot.
GET /api/v1/nichos to list niches, then GET /api/v1/trends/{niche} to read the historical series for the chosen niche.
Agent-Driven Social Research
An AI agent gathers an account's public footprint across networks without a bespoke client for each platform. Through Jentic the agent discovers the profile and repository operations, loads their schemas, and calls them, then summarizes the account's public activity. This lets a research assistant answer questions about a handle directly.
Search Jentic for 'get a social profile', call GET /api/v1/github/profile and GET /api/v1/github/repos, and summarise the account's public activity.
53 endpoints — the honesthook api returns public profiles and posts from the major social networks through one key and one response shape.

What agents get from Jentic-routed access to this vendor.
Setup
Wiring HonestHook by hand means handling its bearer auth and the different query parameters each network's read expects. Through Jentic you install once, import HonestHook from the API Directory, store the token once, and your agent calls the profile and post endpoints.
Permission scoping
HonestHook is read-only and passes the handle or URL as a query parameter with the platform in the URL path, so a rule bounds which read operations your agent may call. Because every operation is a GET, there is no write or delete surface to expose at all.
Credential isolation
Your HonestHook bearer token is stored once, encrypted, by your own Jentic One instance and injected at execution time. It never enters the agent's prompt, logs, or context.
Intent-based discovery
Agents search Jentic by intent such as 'get a social profile' or 'read recent posts', and Jentic returns the matching HonestHook operation with its input schema so the agent calls the right read endpoint without browsing the reference docs.
Alternatives and complements available in the Jentic catalogue.
Specific to using HonestHook API through Jentic.
Is there a HonestHook MCP server?
You do not need an MCP server to give your agent the HonestHook API. Jentic connects it directly from the API Directory: import HonestHook, store your bearer token once, and your agent calls the profile, post, and trend endpoints. Operations are discovered on demand, so no extra server's tool definitions load into the agent's context.
What authentication does the HonestHook API use?
The HonestHook API authenticates with a bearer token in the Authorization header, per its OpenAPI spec, though the niche listing endpoint is reachable without one. Through Jentic the token is stored encrypted by your own Jentic One instance and injected at call time, so it never enters the agent's prompt or logs.
Can I fetch profiles and posts with the HonestHook API?
Yes. GET /api/v1/instagram/profile returns a profile with its exact follower count, GET /api/v1/bluesky/posts returns recent posts, and GET /api/v1/tiktok/post returns a single video by URL. Each response uses one shape per resource and returns null where a platform publishes no value.
What are the rate limits for the HonestHook API?
The OpenAPI spec does not specify numeric rate limits; HonestHook states that it handles rate limits, retries, and platform changes on your behalf behind one key. Check the HonestHook documentation at https://honesthook.com for the current limits that apply to your plan.
How do I fetch a social profile through Jentic?
Search Jentic with the query 'get a social profile', load the schema for GET /api/v1/instagram/profile, and execute it with the handle to retrieve the profile and follower count. To run it on your own infrastructure, install Jentic One from its GitHub repo.
Can I limit what my agent is allowed to do with the HonestHook API?
Yes. Write a rule that allows only the read operations you need, such as GET /api/v1/instagram/profile and GET /api/v1/youtube/channel, so the agent can fetch public data and nothing else, and every call it makes is logged. The whole API is read-only, so there is no write or delete path for the agent to reach.
For Agents
Read public profiles, posts, videos, and historical trends across social networks like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky, and GitHub through one key and one response shape.
Use for: Get the follower count for an Instagram profile, Fetch the latest posts from a Bluesky account, Retrieve a single TikTok video by its URL, Search Hacker News stories for a keyword
Not supported: Does not publish posts, send messages, or run paid ads. Use for reading public social profiles, posts, and historical trends only.
The HonestHook API returns public profiles and posts from the major social networks through one key and one response shape. It fetches profiles with exact follower counts, recent posts, single posts and videos, GitHub repositories, Hacker News stories, and a historical trend archive across more than a dozen platforms. Use it to pull clean, normalized social data for an app or an agent without maintaining a scraper per network.
This API is usable in Jentic One now. Its AI-readiness score against Jentic's framework shows where it stands today and where improvements would make it even easier for agents to use.
